Our second port of call was Buenos Aires, Argentina, one of the most beautiful and sophisticated cities in South America. It was nice to have an overnight in B.A. in order to give us more time to explore this exciting city.
The obelisk, over 220 feet high
Presidential Palace - office of the president
Street vendors - lots of leather and artwork
The Cathedral
Inside the Cathedral
The colorful Boca area - an artist's and diner's paradise!
Tango show at an outdoor cafe in the Boca area
Colorful shops in the Boca area
The Law University
The Recoleta Cemetery has the most amazing mausoleums and statues.
Many people here have a bigger 'house' after death than some of the residents of the city
have during their life!
Evita!
Don't cry for me Argentina!
This is the Duarte Family Mausoleum where Eva Peron (Evita) is buried.
Recoleta Cemetery
Recoleta Cemetery
Galerias Shopping Center
Las Violetas, French Pastry Shop and Restaurant
Beautiful old architecture and delectable pastries!
9th of July Boulevard, one of the widest streets in the world.
Here you can see only the middle lanes each direction, but to the left and right
behind the trees are two more lanes each way.
In the distance is the obelisk and just to the right of it is a giant photo of Eva Peron.
Alan poses with a plow at a Steak and BBQ Restaurant.
Behind him, through the window, you can see the different cuts of meat
hanging on spits around the open fire!
Florida Street, a fabulous, long pedestrian shopping street through the heart of the city
